A Shaman's Guide to Deep Beauty

This video – a true story – “An Indigenous Tale of Insanity, Crisis, and Opportunity” – was filmed by Dana Walden – who also filmed the movie Dreaming Heaven.

It is a very emotional and heartfelt plea for our species to come to awareness of the preciousness and interconnectedness of all of life – a return to sanity and a sense of the sacredness of life.

Please share this video, because the question posed at the end is one that only love can answer – and that would be an awakening for our species…

Thank you!

  1. Dear Francis,

thank you so much for telling this tale and sharing it with us all. It was beautiful to see how moved you are, you really care, don’t you? So do I, my friend, so do I. I could feel the tears too.

I go to the Dances that were given to us by Beautiful Painted Arrow. I’m sure you know him. His wisdom, generosity and forgiving spirit astound me, after all, we all know what our race did and still does to his race. I know there are exeptions but by and large it has not been good.

When I went to the SunMoonDance for the first time I felt that I had come home. I cried tears of joy and gratitude. I’ve been going to these Dances ever since. Being a drummer/singer is my favourite role but I’ve also danced and been a dogsoldier. It doesn’t matter to me in what capacity I’m there as long as I’m there, sharing in the ceremony and offering my prayers and gratitude for this beautiful gift of Life.

These ceremonies have given me hope that we can be different, that we can heal ourselves from the self inflicted separation that is the disease of humanity. I know that our Elder Brothers and Sisters still know how to live in harmony with the Earth and all Life. But they too are threatened by the destructiveness of the so called developed world. This is why I’ve joined Survival International so that I can help them stay alive in their own environment, be it a forest or a tundra. So that they may teach us how to be good stewards for our planet.

We live in crucial times, it’s make or break now. The Mayan calender is coming to an end and who knows what this portends? Some believe it’s the end of the world, some say it’s the beginning of a new time, a new era.

One thing is sure: Human consciousness is expanding at a rate never seen before. You only have to look at the amazing things that are being accomplished by sheer people power, people joining together and taking action on all the things that are wrong in this world. Of course, the mass media will try not to report such things, they want to keep everyone dumb and malleable. And living in fear. Fear is the true opposite of love, not hate, as most people believe. Hate is the other extreme of the same emotion, it’s just angry love. Fear is the real enemy and the weapon with which people are being held down. But great movements are springing up every day now and with so many of us shouting out it’s getting harder and harder for our voices to be ignored by those who try to keep their gravytrain going.

And new technologies are being made available. Technologies that can supply us with the energy we need without killing the planet. Such things have been suppressed by the powers that be but with all the sharing on the internet it’s no longer possible for them to keep the lid on new developments. I also know that we are getting help from other beings, whether from the spiritworld or other planets or even dimensions.

It seems to me (and I know I’m not alone in thinking this) that the old system is on the brink of collapse. A lot of people now see right through the lies we’ve been told all this time. Humanity is finally waking up!

I only hope that there is still time to turn ourselves around before the dinosaur destroys everything in its death throws. My greatest fear is that it’s too late. This is why it’s so urgent that we not only think about it but also take action wherever we can. In small ways as well as big ways. In groups or alone, on the internet and on the streets of our cities and towns.

You have just done that by telling this story. It seems a small thing but if everyone hears, it becomes big. So I’m going to share it with all my friends and contacts and ask them to do the same.

All blessings to you, Francis. All is One.
